Our Story
Patient Support, Plainly Delivered
Eldergrove was founded on the belief that everyone deserves to understand their own retirement paperwork — at their own pace, in language they can follow.
Back to HomeWho We Are
The Eldergrove Story
Eldergrove came together in Bangkok in 2019, when a small group of people with backgrounds in adult education and administrative services noticed a common problem. Many individuals approaching retirement — expats, long-term residents and Thai nationals alike — had accumulated years of pension correspondence they had never quite managed to read carefully, let alone organise.
The paperwork was not necessarily complicated. The problem was that nobody had taken the time to sit down and explain it in plain, calm terms. Eldergrove was set up to fill that gap: not as a financial advisory service, but as a practical, educational one.
From our offices on Rama IV Road, we now run regular group workshops, personal document sessions and longer information programmes for individuals and community groups across Bangkok. We have no interest in selling anything beyond our own sessions. Our role is simply to help people feel less uncertain about the paperwork side of retirement planning.
Our Purpose
What Guides Us
Our Mission
To make retirement-related paperwork understandable and manageable for anyone who asks — regardless of background or prior knowledge.
Our Vision
A Bangkok community where nobody feels anxious about their pension documents — because they have had the chance to sit down, read them carefully, and ask questions in a supportive setting.
Our Values
Patience, clarity, respect for every participant, and an absolute commitment to remaining educational rather than advisory. We never push, sell or pressurise.
The People
Our Team
A small, experienced group with backgrounds in adult education, document management and community outreach.

Founder & Lead Educator
Margaret brings over two decades of adult education experience from the UK and Southeast Asia. She leads our group workshops and wrote most of the supporting materials used in all programmes.
Somchai Phromyos
Records Organisation Coordinator
Somchai oversees our personal records service. With a background in archival management, he has helped hundreds of individuals bring order to their scattered documents.
Linda Ng
Programme Development & Community
Linda designed and maintains the Retirement Readiness Programme. She coordinates our community discussion groups and ensures sessions remain welcoming for all participants.
How We Work
Our Standards & Approach
Every programme and interaction follows a clear set of principles designed to keep our work trustworthy and genuinely useful.
Strictly Educational
We do not hold any regulated advisory permissions and we never stray into individual advice. Every session is framed as general educational information only.
Document Confidentiality
Personal documents handled in our records service are treated with full discretion. We maintain a written confidentiality commitment covering all participants.
Accessibility-First Design
Materials use large, well-spaced type. Sessions are paced for comfortable reading and understanding, with no time pressure placed on participants.
Regularly Updated Content
Workshop materials are reviewed and refreshed to reflect changes in commonly encountered pension structures and documentation formats.
Open Questions Policy
Every session reserves dedicated time for participant questions. There are no silly questions. We would rather answer slowly and clearly than rush past something important.
Participant Feedback
We collect written feedback after every session and use it to improve our delivery. Participants are never pressured to respond and all feedback is anonymous if preferred.
Our Expertise
Helping Bangkok Residents Make Sense of Retirement Paperwork
Pension documentation has a reputation for being dense. Statements arrive with columns of figures and small-print footnotes. Letters from pension administrators use terminology that even attentive readers can find puzzling the first time around. For people who spent their working lives in multiple countries — a common situation among Bangkok's long-term international residents — the paperwork can span several different frameworks and languages at once.
Eldergrove exists to make that stack of papers less daunting. Our group workshops approach the subject the way a good teacher approaches any complex topic: starting with the broad shape of how things work, then moving carefully through the details, stopping whenever something needs a second explanation. We use printed handouts, worked examples based on publicly available information, and plenty of time for general questions.
Our records organisation service addresses a different but equally common problem: the paperwork exists but has never been properly sorted. Statements from five or six years ago are mixed in with more recent letters. Nobody is quite sure what is current and what is outdated. A clear, well-indexed set of folders — whether physical, digital or both — can transform that feeling of uncertainty into something much more manageable.
All of our work is educational in nature. We are not a financial advisory service and we make no claims about money, outcomes or investment performance. Our focus is on helping people understand and organise what they already have — so that when they do speak with a professional adviser, they come to that conversation feeling informed rather than overwhelmed.
