What They Said
Participant Feedback
These are unedited summaries of written feedback from participants, shared with their permission.
David F.
Sukhumvit, Bangkok
"I came to the workshop not knowing what to expect. I had a folder of pension statements from the UK that I had been putting off looking at for about three years. The session was calm — not rushed at all. I left actually understanding what the statements were telling me. That felt like quite a significant shift."

"The records organisation service was something my husband and I did together. We had documents going back to 2009 and no idea what was still current. Somchai was very thorough and patient with us. It took most of a day but at the end we had a proper index. We have used it twice already."

Ari, Bangkok
"What made this different from anything else I had tried was that nobody at any point tried to sell me anything. It was genuinely just information. The Retirement Readiness Programme gave me a clearer picture of what I needed to check with my own pension provider. I appreciated the lack of pressure throughout."

Susan M.
Sathorn, Bangkok
"I was a bit hesitant about a group format — I did not want to ask questions in front of other people and look as if I knew nothing. But the whole group was in a similar position and the facilitator was very good at making the room feel comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone my age who is confused by this sort of thing."

Wiroj C.
Ratchathewi, Bangkok
"The printed handout from the workshop was genuinely useful to have. My eyesight is not what it was and the fact that the text was large enough to read comfortably without my reading glasses was a small thing, but it mattered. The session itself covered what I needed. I felt better informed going into a meeting with my provider the following month."

Angela H.
Thong Lo, Bangkok
"I did the records organisation and then came back for the Retirement Readiness Programme a few months later. Having my paperwork sorted before starting the programme made a real difference — I could follow along with what was being discussed because I actually knew what documents I had. I think the two services work well together."

Case Studies
How the Programmes Made a Difference
Each situation was different, but the common thread was a practical, educational approach at each participant's own pace.
Case 1: A Retired Couple with Three Separate Pension Schemes
The Challenge
A couple in their early sixties had pension arrangements from two different countries — the UK and Australia — accumulated over separate working careers. The paperwork had never been properly organised and neither of them felt confident about what they held or how to interpret annual statements.
What We Did
We started with the records service to sort and index documents from both pension arrangements. Once they had a clear picture of what they held, both attended the Pension Systems Explained workshop to build a shared understanding of how the different structures work in general terms.
The Result
They left with an indexed folder of current documents, a clear list of questions to put to each pension provider separately, and the confidence to book those appointments. Both said they had been putting off those conversations for several years.
"We should have done this years ago. It was not as daunting as we expected."
Case 2: First-Time Programme Participant, Approaching 60
The Challenge
A Bangkok resident in her late fifties had never taken any steps to understand her existing pension arrangements, partly because previous attempts to research the topic had left her more confused than before. She was looking for something that explained the basics without assuming prior knowledge.
What We Did
She joined the Retirement Readiness Programme, which was recommended because it covers a broad range of topics at a measured pace. The community discussion group also gave her the opportunity to raise questions between sessions as they occurred to her.
The Result
Over the course of the programme she built a clear general understanding of how pension documentation works, felt ready to contact her provider with a specific list of questions, and made connections with other participants in similar situations through the discussion group.
"I came in nervous. After the second session, I started to feel like this was manageable."
Case 3: A Community Group Workshop Booking
The Challenge
A Bangkok-based expat community association wanted to offer its members a group session on pension documentation basics. Several members had mentioned the topic at previous meetings, and the association was looking for something informational that would not cross into regulated advice.
What We Did
We ran a custom group workshop for twelve participants at their meeting venue. As it was a community group, we kept the pace slightly slower than usual and ensured the printed handouts were available to take away for members who were not able to attend in person.
The Result
The session received strong written feedback and the association booked a follow-up session the following quarter. Several participants later enrolled individually in the Retirement Readiness Programme.
"Exactly what the group needed — informative, no pressure, and pitched at the right level."
